Critical Friendship
Critical Friend visits
This is an opportunity to have a
supportive outside perspective for each school's self-directing
journey. The Critical
Friend would support, question, analyse, clarify, reflect,
motivate and encourage success in each school. The visits
would normally be for half a day per term but could be
increased according to need. Critical Friends are happy
to work with senior managers, other staff, governors, parents
and pupils to fully understand the school's context and
to assist in gathering information for evaluating the project's
progress. The typical Critical Friend would be an experienced
practitioner, usually a serving or former Head teacher
who will have received critical friendship training and
is fully conversant with Accelerated Learning.
