Coaching for Performance Programme

The Alite one-day Coaching for Performance Programme

Getting stuck is not a problem, staying stuck is…

The Alite one-day Coaching for Performance Programme develops one to one coaching skills. Coaching for Performance will be of professional value to teachers and educational leaders who want to improve the performance of students or colleagues.

The Programme is closely focused on promoting independent thinking and problem-solving in others. Coaching techniques are demonstrated and developed through practical activities. The Programme content is backed by the relevant coaching theory. Together this offers you the opportunity to understand the psychology of performance and develop the practical skills of coaching excellence.

The Alite one-day Coaching for Performance Programme is designed and delivered by Will Thomas. Will is a Training Consultant with Alite and a Performance Coach. He works with individuals from school age to old age. A former Head of Faculty in a large comprehensive school, he has used coaching extensively to enable people to maximise performance and overcome personal barriers to success.

The outline of the course content of Performance Coaching includes:

  • What is coaching?
  • The difference between coaching and other helping processes
  • The essential dispositions of an effective coach
  • How to establish and maintain rapport
  • Essential listening skills
  • How to ask the right questions and what to do when a client gets stuck
  • Five crucial steps to empower change
  • Interventions for changing limiting beliefs
  • Achieving life balance

The Alite one-day Coaching for Performance Programme draws from NLP, Sports Performance Psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. The programme provides delegates with simple models and techniques that can improve motivation and broker success.

Further coaching skills development

Further coaching skills development is available to assist delegates to embed the concepts and skills of coaching, following the course. This takes the form of six telephone coaching sessions. The first three sessions are for you to be coached, and experience what it is like to experience a coaching session. The last three sessions are for you to coach your coach and receive tips and hints as to how to further enhance your skills.
