Gavin Kewley
Gavin has experience as a teacher, coach, manager and adviser developing approaches to learning and development, at personal and institutional levels both in education and the corporate sector. Learning to learn for all ages and levels of attainment is a passion that runs throughout his work.
Offering solution focussed workshops on land and afloat, he has enabled others to develop a range of practical approaches to leading learning, extending workplace skills and personal development. Delegates leave his engaging sessions motivated and eager to try out what they have developed.
He has worked at institutions through to individual student level. Initiatives have included Accelerated Learning, Gifted and Talented, Personal and Vocational Education, School Improvement, Learning Differences and SEN.
Running a successful learning and development consultancy, current projects include: at KS1 – modelling learner attributes across the school community, at Secondary level – training staff and student coaches, teaching HE in FE and Leading Learning at LEA level.
Gavin is a Master Practitioner in NLP and has training and accreditation in counselling and coaching performance. As an RYA Yachtmaster he applies these techniques afloat , as well as on land. Getting Coaching Afloat is a course, designed and run by Gavin, where coaching skills are developed by team leaders as part of the crew of a yacht developing strategies for raising performance with all levels of ability and motivation.
